What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from December 2025. ERO found that teaching is of high quality in reading, writing and maths, structured literacy and maths approaches are embedded across the school, and a broad local curriculum has helped lift engagement and achievement for Māori learners. Students are engaged, feel they belong and are proud of their school, and whānau engagement is high.

ERO noted that writing results are lower and not yet equitable, that the school does not yet break down its data to compare Māori boys and girls, and that assessment practice is still being strengthened. The board assurance check found that police vetting had not always been completed before employment; the board has since fixed this.

The priorities ERO set are to update the school’s curriculum to match national curriculum and assessment changes, to grow teachers’ confidence in te reo Māori, to make better use of data to understand the needs of different groups of learners, and to keep improving regular attendance, which is approaching the Government target.

Enrolling

Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places.

The school’s enrolment page says it runs an enrolment scheme to keep the roll at a manageable size. Families are invited to come into the office to enrol and meet senior staff, and new entrants can make familiarisation visits in the weeks before they start.
