Each suburb has its own distinct character, Art Deco, era heritage on Napier Hill, the seaside Marine Parade precinct, trendy waterfront cafés and wine bars at Ahuriri, family-oriented streets in Taradale and Greenmeadows, and beachside cottages at Westshore and Bay View.
