What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from December 2025. ERO found that success and progress are rising, that teaching is of high quality in reading, writing and maths, and that structured literacy and maths teaching is well embedded.

Learners have a broad curriculum with a local focus, take part in many sports and cultural activities, and those with complex needs are well supported.

Partnerships with families and whānau are strong, and outcomes for Māori learners are becoming more even. ERO noted that writing results are not yet equitable for all groups and that regular attendance is approaching, but not yet at, the Government target.

The priorities ERO set are to update the school’s curriculum to match recent national curriculum and assessment changes, to strengthen review and evaluation so the school knows which practices are most effective for every group of students, and to keep improving regular attendance.

Enrolling

Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places.

The enrolment page has the zone map and a street index, and proof of address is needed for in-zone enrolments. Out-of-zone families are asked to contact the office first, and enrolment packs are sent out once a child is about six months from starting school.
