What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from April 2025. ERO found the school is still working towards high levels of success, with fewer than half of students at or above expected curriculum levels in reading, writing and maths, and results not yet equitable across groups.

Attendance is behind the government target, although it is improving, chronic absence is falling and a suitable plan is in place.

ERO described strong teaching, an inclusive setting where students are engaged and feel they belong, structured reading teaching with marked gains in Years 4 to 6, a structured maths programme being introduced, and teachers who use achievement information to guide their teaching.

ERO and the school agreed to sustain the gains in attendance, make better use of assessment data in writing and maths, build learning partnerships with whānau, and train the new board in its governance role. ERO also found too few staff were trained in first aid, which the board has since put right.
