What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from November 2025. Since its previous review the school has put whole-school structured literacy and maths plans in place, Māori students’ reading and writing results have risen, and there is little gap between Māori and Pākehā students, although boys still trail girls in writing.
ERO found high quality teaching, inclusive and orderly classrooms, good support for students with additional learning needs, clear reporting to families, and a Māori and English bilingual class.
A small majority of students are at or above the expected level in reading and writing and a large majority in maths, with writing results not yet equitable across groups. Attendance is close to the government target, but chronic absence is not yet falling.
The key priorities are to lift regular attendance, track wellbeing and achievement data more closely for every group of students, help teachers use the new curriculum assessments, measure the impact of school initiatives, give whānau, hapū and iwi more say in the school’s direction, and help students set goals and reflect on their learning.
ERO also found two areas of non-compliance, covering planning and risk assessment for education outside the classroom and checks when staff are appointed, which the board has since addressed.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places.
The school’s enrolment page says the board considers out-of-zone applications for new entrants at set times of the year and other out-of-zone requests as space allows. The page has the enrolment form, new entrant information and an online enrolment option.
