What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from December 2025. ERO found that success and progress are rising, teaching in reading, writing and maths is of high quality, and students learning English get strong support, with most of them reaching expected levels over time.
Students have a strong sense of belonging and good relationships with teachers and classmates, and the board and leaders work closely with the community so the school’s special character and the national curriculum are both reflected.
ERO noted that maths results are not yet equitable for all groups, reporting to parents is still being improved, and regular attendance is approaching the Government target while the school develops its attendance plan.
The priorities ERO set are a clearly planned attendance strategy, checking how well improvement work lifts progress for learners at every level, evaluating the effect of professional learning, and building all staff’s ability to bring te reo Māori and tikanga Māori into teaching.

Enrolling
As a state-integrated school, Parkside gives preference to families with a connection to the beliefs, values and lifestyle of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A limited number of non-preference places are also available; families who take one accept the school’s special character and take part in its programme, and they pay attendance dues set by the proprietor, which are compulsory.
Enrolment information is available in hard copy from the school office, and families can join a waiting list if no place is free straight away.
