Napier Parks And Reserves

Exploring & walking throughout Napier

Napier has substantial public parks and reserves — from the iconic Marine Parade Gardens with their colonnades, fountains and Art Deco statues, through to the hillside bush reserves on the western flank of Napier Hill, and the regional parks across the wider Hawke’s Bay area. Standouts include the heritage Centennial Gardens, the substantial Botanical Gardens on Napier Hill, Anderson Park, Nelson Park, and the bush walks on Dolbel Reserve and the Boundary Stream–Maungaharuru ranges.

All council-managed parks are free, open all year, and most are accessible from central Napier within 5–15 minutes by car or bike. The Marine Parade Norfolk Pines stretching the length of the foreshore are themselves a heritage landscape feature.
