About Twist Library

The library is the academic hub for the campus — supporting hundreds of tertiary and vocational students across courses including nursing, business, IT, trades, hospitality, computing and the arts.

The library is described as offering a modern library experience with cutting-edge resources and inclusive services — a relaxed and friendly study and research environment. Helpdesk support is available in the K Block Atrium during standard weekday hours.

Services

Twist Library provides the standard academic library services for EIT students and staff:

  • Print collection — academic books, journals, course materials
  • Online databases — substantial subscription database access for research
  • Study spaces — quiet study, group study, computer terminals
  • WiFi — campus WiFi throughout
  • Helpdesk — staffed support for research, referencing and library use
  • Te Pūkenga network — access to the wider Te Pūkenga library network

Community Access

Twist Library is primarily for EIT | Te Pūkenga students and staff. Community access — for non-students wanting to use the academic resources — is generally by arrangement with the library helpdesk or through other community-borrower programmes. Most general community library users will find their needs better served by the council Napier Libraries branches (Napier Library on Tennyson Street and Taradale Library on White Street), both of which are free public-access libraries.
